八角形に仕上げた木地の上に、拭き漆を施しています。
拭き漆は、生漆という透けた漆を刷り込んで仕上げる技法。
木地の木目が綺麗に透け、厚塗りの漆とは違った表情が特徴です。
開栓時に所作が美しくなることをイメージし、抜刀の所作を参考にデザインしました。

Wiping lacquer is applied on the octagonal wooden base.
Hoki-urushi is a technique of imprinting a transparent lacquer called Nama-urushi.
The wood grain is beautifully transparent, and it has a different look from the thick lacquer.
The design is based on the drawing of a sword, inspired by the beautiful movement when the valve is opened.
